My European friends have long expressed their bewilderment at the very long (seemingly endless) campaign cycles in US elections. While I agree that it can become ridiculous, I remind them that the length of these campaigns frequently allow candidates to display either their stupidity and faults or, occasionally, their before unseen exemplary talents. It appears as if we are witnessing just that in the current presidential campaign. I wonder what public displays still await us.

Following the British elections, the outcome of which many commentators have welcomed as a real opportunity to revive standards in political and public life, French voters seem to have unexpectly regulated the Far Right National Rally to third place in their own election. While there is no clear majority party and this may result in parliamentary deadlock, it noneless represents a victory not only for President Marcon but more importantly for liberal democracy. It further shows rejection of political extremism and populism and will facilitate effective functioning of the EU and Western cooperation.

Be Wise... Nowadays, there are heated discussions in every workplace about the political situation, especially with the upcoming general elections. Please avoid becoming a puppet for any political group. Be wise in your decisions, don't judge solely based on what is perceived as good or bad. Liking someone or feeling they are good doesn't necessarily mean they are right. Make your voting decisions based on what is right and wrong. Choose a candidate with a track record of past activities that align with your values.
