Plan Your Live Music Week (2024)

Thank you all for joining PIDAT and spreading the word about this weekly post/email. Meta is understandably not very friendly towards Substack links. I tried again and got a warning for posts that go against community standards so your word of mouth is helpful. PIDAT is close to 7,000 members on Meta and full of great resources. In time this will grow as well.

Here’s what’s ahead this in the next several days.

Playing In The Detroit Area Tonight is a reader-supported publication. To receive a weekly email with events in the area you can subscribe for free or choose to be a paid supporter

Thursday June 13th

Jennifer Westwood and the Handsome Devils at the Whitney in Detroit

"Jennifer Westwood makes a loud, liberated version of American roots music. It's a modern sound influenced by the singer's old-school favorites, blending Stax-sized soul with gospel grit and dive-bar rock & roll. A sound built for Rust Belt roadhouses, Texas honky-tonks, and Memphis pool halls. A sound that's purely — and proudly — her own".

Visit the link below, click "Buy Tickets" and select June 13th. Gen Admission is $10 and reserved seating is $20 starting for a table of 2.

Want YOUR event listed in this email blast? Here’s How.

  • Join Playing in the Detroit Area Tonight on Facebook - because I want you to:

  • Share your FB Event Link to the group. When you share your event link, it automatically shows up in PIDAT’s “Upcoming Events” tab - that aids your visibility and I can grab accurate event info there.

  • If that doesn’t work for you, watch for (SUNDAY AND MONDAY) posts on PIDAT asking for your event details “in the comments below” and include this info:

GENRE - Friends and peers might know what kind of music you play but not strangers. Share your genre or a band description.

  • Location

  • Time

  • Charge, Name of Act(s).

  • If it is all in a graphic, great.

Thanks for giving me the tools to help you, help everyone and manage my time!
